At the start of a new year, it’s great to take a moment to consider all the good things that came out of the year before. With this in mind, I spoke to organic beauty maven – Victoria Wright – founder of the lovely organic subscription box – Souk Souk
, and asked her what her top picks of 2013 were:
Running a natural and organic beauty box business puts me in the very fortunate position of being able to try out lots of truly gorgeous and green beauty products. It’s quite a challenge to narrow my favourites down to just a few but my top three would be:
Think Neal’s Yard Remedies but a smaller, more homely business. This predominantly organic cream is daily luxury in a bottle. It contains chamomile and rose essential oils which my skin loves and it sinks in really nicely. The founder Marie is an inspiration too. She creates extremely high quality products, all made by hand and with genuine love. We profiled her recently
and have a lot of admiration for the philosophy behind the brand.
I have to be quite careful with the cleansers I use but this one really surprised me. The Sweet Orange oil fragrance is deliciously potent but the honey and cocoa butter give it balance. Used with a damp, hot cloth this is a highly effective cleanser. And it’s relatively undiscovered, so one to try and then tell your friends about!
Oh my, if ever there was a face and body cream good enough to eat! Boris, the founder of MuLondon prides himself on creating rich, heavenly, organic products – the creams contain no water so there’s no need for preservatives and the formulations are 100% active. I use the White Chocolate Cream on dry areas. It works wonders and it smells divine.
