Having decided to bravely try for myself some of the more popular DIY natural beauty recipes floating around on the Internet, I have had mixed success until this point. Following the triumph that was my Apple Cider Vinegar and Green Tea Toner from the other week, I experimented with the disastrous Avocado and Honey Hair Mask. So with a not completely encouraging 50/50 record to improve upon, I set my sites on this Peach and Egg White Face Mask from The Daily Green.
As simple as can be, you simply peel a peach and remove the stone before whipping it up in a blender with the white of one egg.
The smell of this concoction is amazing and it was only the knowledge of the raw egg in the mixture that prevented me from licking the spoon.
Once blended, this mixture is quite runny, so I applied a layer and then after it had dried for a minute, applied another to get better coverage.
Settling down for 30 minutes I went to rinse the product off and while it had congealed slightly, it had not dried out completely – so washed off easily.
I do feel this toned up my skin, leaving it feeling pleasantly tighter and very fresh. Most importantly I had no reaction to the mask and feel that it was as good as many purchased masks I have tried in revitalizing the skin on my face.
Definitely one to try – especially if you have a peach that is past it’s best. If you try – do let me know how you get on.
