While we would all love a naturally fast metabolism that allows us to indulge in the food we may crave, it is not something we were all blessed with at birth. Hydrate! It’s not news that we should all probably drink more water, however it’s worth noting that upping your H2O intake is also a great way to keep your metabolism ticking over nicely.
Don’t starve! Again, not the most revolutionary of health tips but if you are trying to speed up your metabolism as part of a weight-loss program, the temptation could be to drastically reduce your calorie intake. Calorie and portion control are part of weight-loss, however going hungry could actually work against you as your body goes into survival mode; clinging to life-saving fats. Instead, choose to eat small, healthy meals regularly throughout the day. This will have the added benefit of keeping a lid on hunger and cravings and will make you more likely to stick to your goals.
